Review

JpegExpress is a free tool to losslessly rotate and reduce the size of your BMP or JPEG files in a fast interactive way. Its intuitive interface shows you both the original file and the resulting image, allowing you to preview the results of the compression settings applied before saving.

This simple tool allows you to perform rotation in any BMP or JPEG file by steps of 90 degrees. This rotation process does not imply any loss of quality in the original file, thus leaving the size of the original file also intact. If you need to reduce the size of a BMP or JPEG image then you need to apply a certain level of compression. This can be done easily with JpegExpress, selecting the compression rate that fits requirements of both size and quality. Having the two images and their sizes side by side makes it very easy to find a compromise between quality and size. Both are instantly refreshed any time a change in the compression rate is applied, and the changes will not be final until you save the new image.

Note that once an image has been compressed, the rotation functionality can’t be used unless you save the file and open it again. If you want to rotate and compress an image, rotation must be applied first.

The final results in terms of quality are amazing, even when the size of the original image has been drastically reduced.
Advantages
  • Real time preview of image quality a file size.
Disadvantages
  • Rotation can only be applied clockwise.
